This bag is very thoughtfully designed and the slate color is great. I almost bought the 60L bag and I am glad I did not. 2 things made me consider the larger bag: 1) uncertainty whether it would fit both boots and a helmet and 2) some reviews suggesting that a size ten or similar boots would not fit.After receiving the bag, I can confirm that for most people, 45L is plenty big. My 26.5 boots fit easily with about 2 inches to spare (see photo). This should accommodate at least up to size 30.5 mondopoint boots (roughly US13 shoe size). I think the reviewer who said they could not fit size 10 boots may have mistakenly tried to put the boots in the front compartment (where a helmet or other gear would go). It’s a natural mistake (we generally open backpacks from the front. But this bag is designed to put the boots through the rear of the bag so the boots are separated from other gear (a great design in my opinion). My boots would also not fit in the front compartment. I have also included a picture of the front compartment open while the boots are in the bag. My helmet will easily fit. There is also a separate goggle compartment with soft fleece-like lining on the top. Third picture.Bottom line, I think this bag is plenty big and I would not want it 33% bigger. This is a pretty big bag already.
